Alicia and Chad’s destination wedding was a stunning celebration of love, vision, and intentional planning—crafted with purpose and executed to perfection by Touch of Jewel Events & Designs. The couple initially dreamed of getting married in Italy, drawn to its romance, charm, and timeless aesthetic. But with travel logistics and a desire to make the journey easier for their elderly loved ones, they turned to our team to find the perfect alternative: a destination that mirrored Italy’s old-world elegance without requiring overseas travel.
After extensive research and destination vetting, we landed on the breathtaking Casa De Campo Resort & Villas in La Romana, Dominican Republic. With its Mediterranean-inspired architecture, lush surroundings, and the iconic Altos de Chavón amphitheater, it delivered everything Alicia and Chad had envisioned—and more.
The wedding weekend kicked off with a stylish Italian-themed welcome party that immersed guests in a warm, rustic, and joyful celebration. From handcrafted Italian dishes to a charming gelato cart on wheels, every detail set the tone for an immersive and elevated guest experience.
The ceremony was originally planned to take place on a beautiful lawn overlooking the Caribbean Sea, framed by nature and abundant florals. However, moments before the ceremony began, unexpected weather rolled in. With grace, teamwork, and faith, we made a swift pivot indoors without sacrificing beauty or emotion. Guests were still enveloped in an atmosphere of romance, and Alicia and Chad exchanged vows in a space filled with candlelight and intention.
But the true showstopper was the reception at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater—pure magic. The architecture alone evoked the feel of a Tuscan village, while our decor brought a whimsical elegance to the space. Suspended floral chandeliers, delicate string lights, and soft amber uplighting transformed the amphitheater into a dreamscape. The color palette—emerald green, blush, and rose gold—was layered into every design detail, from custom tablescapes and rose-accented macarons to luxe place settings and romantic florals.
As the couple descended the amphitheater steps for their grand entrance, surrounded by music that paid homage to American, Dominican, and Italian cultures, guests were swept away in the magic. The night continued with a fusion of entertainment, lively dancing, and a surprise fireworks finale that lit up the Caribbean sky and capped off the celebration with a bang.
