When creativity, collaboration, and quick thinking come together — design turns into art. This Phantom of the Opera-inspired celebration was the perfect blend of drama, romance, and luxury. But what made it truly special wasn’t just the design, it was the story of how we brought it to life in just 10 days, right inside our client’s home.
Our client reached out with a bold vision: a Phantom of the Opera–themed celebration that felt moody, elegant, and unforgettable, all within their private residence. With just ten days before the event, our team got to work, conducting an initial walkthrough, taking detailed measurements, sketching 3D layouts, and curating an immersive design plan that would completely transform their home into a luxurious, theatrical experience. This was a design-only engagement, but we approached it as if we were producing the entire show — ensuring every vendor and partner involved understood the aesthetic direction and execution flow.
Our inspiration came straight from the Paris Opera House, rich burgundy, deep red, black, and antique gold tones set the scene for mystery and romance. We layered textures, lighting, and florals to create depth and movement throughout the space.
This is how we brought the vision to life:
Concept & Mood Board Development: Establishing the core design narrative — luxurious yet moody, elegant yet bold.
Floral Design: Lush, full arrangements in burgundy and dark red hues filled with roses, ranunculus, and amaranthus. We wove in Phantom masks throughout the florals, tablescape, and backdrop to subtly tie the theme together.
Tablescape Styling: Black linens, burgundy napkins, and gold candelabras anchored the tables, each setting designed to reflect timeless grandeur.
Draping & Lighting Design: Red velvet drapery, golden uplighting, and a candlelit glow transformed the living room into an intimate opera-inspired setting.
Photo Op Backdrop: A striking visual centerpiece that blended floral art, theatrical textures, and the signature Phantom motif.
Every element was intentional — built to transport guests into the mystique of Phantom of the Opera while staying true to our client’s home environment.
We had designed the backyard to be the heart of the celebration, a stunning open-air layout that perfectly balanced elegance and drama. But on the morning of the event, rain and high winds changed everything. Our team had to pivot fast.
Within hours, we brought in tenting to protect the setup and redesigned the lighting to maintain ambiance under the new structure. While the tent wasn’t part of our original plan, we used strategic uplighting, warm tones, and layered candlelight to recreate the moody glow of our initial concept. The end result? A space that still radiated luxury, emotion, and depth — proving that adaptability is one of the most underrated design skills.
Even as a design-only project, collaboration was crucial. We worked closely with: The planning and logistics team to realign setup timelines when the weather changed. The tent and lighting vendors to reimagine placement and illumination in real-time. The floral and rental partners to ensure our textures and tones stayed cohesive despite the shift in environment. Our ability to lead aesthetically while partnering seamlessly with other vendors is what ensures our clients get a design that feels effortless — even when the day isn’t.
When guests walked in, the transformation was undeniable. From cascading red drapes to the glimmer of gold candelabras and the iconic Phantom masks woven into the décor — the story came to life. The rain may have altered our plan, but it couldn’t dampen the magic. In the end, it wasn’t just about creating beauty. It was about preserving the essence of design through adaptability — ensuring the atmosphere, energy, and emotion stayed authentic to the original vision.
